Learn How to Be Happy Alone
How do you feel when you are alone? Do you feel alone or lonely? Do you feel distressed or calm?
It is quite difficult for some people to be alone with themselves. Yes, it is a strange thought but being alone, truly alone with only ourselves for company can be quite daunting.
No tv, no ipod, no phone, no friends, no family, no interruptions – no distractions.
When was the last time you were truly alone with yourself? How did it feel? No, how did you feel? Honestly, was it a positive experience of unsettling?
My take on all of this is that ultimately we are alone. We are social animals and we need others in our tribe but ultimately for us to be who we truly are we need to be able to sit within ourselves and like what we see.
When was the last time you sat with yourself with no outside input? Is this too unnerving to even contemplate? Why is that do you think?
Are you frightened you will find someone you don’t know waiting there to greet you? Are you scared you won’t like what you find? To be truly open to love another or keep love alive we need to know who we are and what we have to offer. Sit
No matter the reason it’s important to face your demons. Heaven knows, you may even like what you find. After all, it is you waiting there to greet – you.
Take a chance, even if it is only for 5 minutes to sit with – you!
